Excellent news for all incoming Freshmen to QuIP! QuIP 9th graders in the 2016-2017 school year will now be able to select between Common Core Math 1 and Common Core Math 2 for their math course. Students can already choose between English 1 and 1A, so an advanced Math option is a natural addition to the program.
Also, the QuIP 9th Grade Elective for the 2016-2017 school year will be Studies in Media! In QuIP, the Studies in Media elective will both help students with transitioning to high school, and also serve as the coordinating class for cross-curricular projects and real-world experiences. The course will focus on developing and refining the 4C's (Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, and Creativity), building a supportive community, and making learning meaningful and fun. Students can expect to participate in a wide variety of activities, including learning games, guest speakers, and field trips. They will also be provided with targeted support and the freedom to explore individual interests. We are very excited to be able to offer Studies, as it will be a perfect complement to the rest of QuIP!
